What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age to rent a car without additional costs is 21. Car rental is also possible from the age of 18, provided you have held a driver's license for at least one year.

Is a deposit, security deposit, or credit card required?

No, you can rent any of our vehicles without leaving a deposit, deposit, and you also do not need to have a credit card.

What coverage is available and how does it work?

There are two types of insurance, with basic insurance included in all reservations. Basic insurance covers damage to the car body. This insurance does not cover windows, tires, or rims. To obtain full coverage for your rental, you must add the “Full Protection” option to your extras. None of these insurance policies cover negligence.

What do we mean by negligence?

We understand negligence to be any use of the vehicle that does not comply with the rules of the contract. Situations of negligence result in the loss of insurance, leaving the customer liable for all damages or costs incurred. Examples: driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or substances that affect driving ability; dangerous or reckless driving, including speeding or risky maneuvers; use of the vehicle in prohibited areas, namely off-road driving, on unpaved roads, beaches, trails, etc.; loss or damage to vehicle keys; Allowing the vehicle to be driven by persons not authorized in the contract; Filling with incorrect fuel; Damage resulting from incorrect use of the vehicle or failure to heed dashboard warnings (e.g., oil lights, temperature, etc.); Failure to report accidents, damage, or breakdowns.

What documentation is required?

To make the rental, identification documents or a passport and also the driver's license are required.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is 2 full days.

How do I know if my reservation is confirmed?

During the reservation process, in the email field, you must enter the email address where you wish to receive the confirmation. If you do not receive it within 5 minutes, you can contact us via WhatsApp or email.

Why do you need my flight number?

When the car is delivered at the airport, the Just Drive Madeira team tracks your flight in real time so that we can deliver the car to you as quickly as possible.

How will I be contacted on the day of delivery? And for the return?

On the day before the delivery/pick-up of the car, we will send a message to confirm the delivery/pick-up time. Then, we will send an explanatory video of our meeting point on the delivery day. On the day before the collection, we also send some photos of our meeting point at the airport.

Where is the meeting point at the airport?

Our meeting point on the day of car delivery is at the airport Park 0 in front of the Cristiano Ronaldo statue. On the day of collection, we meet on the departure floor.

Can delivery and return only be at the airport?

No. We deliver and collect the car at any point on the island. Depending on the location, an extra delivery and collection fee may be charged.

If there is a delay, is the reservation canceled?

No. Your car is reserved and available until your arrival.

And in case of flight cancellation, will I be charged any amount?

No, there will be no charge for canceling the trip. However, your reservation will be canceled immediately.

If I want to cancel the reservation, will I be charged any amount?

Canceling the reservation is free up to 24 hours before the car delivery.

Is there a mileage limit?

No. There is no limit. You can enjoy the car as well as our island.

Do you provide booster seats and baby/child seats?

Yes, when you make your reservation, these extras will be available, as well as a baby stroller, if you need one for your vacation. All these extras have an associated cost, which varies depending on your choice.

How is the reservation payment made?

The reservation payment is made on the day of car delivery and can be paid by Multibanco, Credit Card, or cash. You can also make a bank transfer and send us the proof to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

How does fuel work?

All our vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. On the day of delivery, we will always mention what type of fuel you should use.

How many drivers can be added?

You can add one driver per contract. The additional driver has an extra cost added to your total reservation, which will depend on the vehicle selected.

Are all driver's licenses legal?

European Union driving licenses are valid. If it was issued elsewhere, you must also have an international driving license.

Do you have vehicles with automatic transmission?

Yes, our fleet consists of manual and automatic cars.

Lost/forgotten items inside the vehicle?

If personal items are found inside a car after it has been collected, we will contact you to arrange for their return.

Is there any excess?

If you add full insurance, there is no excess. If you opt for basic insurance, included in the rental price, the excess will cover the cost of damage to the car, but no amount will be deducted on arrival, only in the event of an accident.

What extras are available when making a reservation?

We have a list of optional extras that you can add to your reservation. They are as follows:

  • Phone holder, €5 per reservation.
  • Additional driver, €5 per reservation.
  • GPS, €10 per day.
  • Baby stroller, €10 per day.
  • Maxi-Cosi Group 0 and 0+, €6 per day.
  • Child seat Group I and II, €5 per day.
  • Booster seat Group III, €4 per day.
  • Full protection insurance (windows, tires and rims), €10 per day.

Airport delivery and collection, €20 per reservation (mandatory for reservations where delivery and collection are carried out at the airport).
